Hello I just updated to WebCatalog 67.0.0 and I understand it offers the ability to make new tabs which I think it is pretty nice.
However, it introduces a problem with my Google Sheets app. When I right-click a spreadsheet and click “Open in New Tab”, it will no longer create a popup window regardless of the Link Rules setting. This issue persists even when I turn off the “Show tab bar” feature. I prefer this so I can move different Google Sheets windows to different virtual desktops.
If this is difficult to implement, even an ability to detach the tab into a separate window would suffice. Thank you!
You can add a link rule like following image and it should work. We’re working to add more settings and make link rules easier to use.
Thanks for the suggestion. This somewhat works, but then when I open a sheet without the right-click menu, it opens twice (one in the popup and in the main sheet). I guess I can live with that for now. But the Google Sheet is sort of a rare case that has a custom right-click menu and both the “new tab” and regular click have the exact same URL so I suppose a Link rule can’t fix it.
It would be great it disabling the “new tab” option reverts things back to a pre-update state because I think the new behavior thinks the functionality is still there but because no tab opens, it reuses the existing window. But thanks for this stopgap solution. Great work as always.
We’ve just added an option in the beta channel for you to change the behavior:
You can change that to open in popup window and then hide the tab bar => same experience as before.

Thank you very much for the speedy fix.
Will give feedback as soon as I test it.
